The mother of senior MQM worker Mr Nadeem Nusrat was laid to rest in Yasinabad graveyard today.TheFuneral prayer was held in the Bait-ul-Mukarram Masjid. Deputy Convener Mr Anis Qaimkhani and members of the Co-ordination Committee attended the funeral and burial. MQM ministers, elected representatives and office-bearers and workers of various wings of the MQM also attended the funeral of Mr Nusrat’s mother who had passed away inLondon.

The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement Mr Altaf Hussain telephoned the Chairman of Pakistan Ulema Council Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi and expressed sympathies on being kidnapped and subjected to brutal torture. He also praised the personnel of police and intelligence agencies for risking their lives in rescuing Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi from the custody of the kidnappers.

Nationalist elements are conspiring to ruin peace in Sindh at the behest of government agencies: MQM

The Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement has appealed to the peaceful people of Sindh to thwart the vicious conspiracy by the so-called nationalists to ruin peace in Sindh by protests and strikes. It said that the representative political parties enjoying support of millions of people of Sindh had prepared a local government system in order to transfer power to the lowest levels. The Co-ordination Committee said that the conscious people of Sindh knew it very well that the so-called nationalists work on the pay roll of the establishment, and they had always opposed any action which could benefit the people of Sindh. It said that the nationalist forces had not even been able to get a few hundred votes in elections or get a councilor elected.

The movement for truth and justice would reach its destiny thanks to the immortal sacrifices of the martyrs. In his message on the 24th anniversary of the tragedies, Mr Hussain said that sacrifices in revolutionary movements promise success. If the workers and sympathizers associated with any movement do not shrink from offering sacrifices, success becomes their fate.
