The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that the local government system is the real spirit of democracy and opposing this system is, in fact, opposing the democracy. He said this while talking to the office-bearers of Lahore Zone and various districts the Punjab in the office of the MQM Lahore zone.

The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that the founder of Pakistan Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had wanted to establish a system in Pakistan in which everyone had equal rights irrespective of their religion, faith and sect. The Quaid-i-Azam had wanted every Pakistani to have equal status in the country but the group that was opposed to the creation of Pakistan and the Pakistan movement usurped power in by casting off the vision and ideology of the Quaid-i-Azam.

The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that the terrorist elements carrying out attack on defence installations, slaughtering the personnel of the armed forced defending the borders, and instigating sectarian bloodshed were open enemies of Pakistan and not its friends. All the patriotic elements and the general public should get united against such elements. He said this while talking to the chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council Allama Tahir Ashrafi on the telephone.

Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain said here on Saturday all those elements opposing local government system in Sindh are dictators and enemies of democracy.

He also lashed out at the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz for extending its support to the separatist and nationalist elements of Sindh, saying that such an act on the party amounted to strengthening enemies of Pakistan. Mr. Hussain was making a telephonic address at the general workers meetings held at Karachi and across the country, simultaneously, under the aegis of MQM. The Founder and Leader of the MQM Mr Altaf Hussain has said that the forces of evil and elements working on the payroll of hidden hands are busy in ruining the peace of Sindh but the MQM and the PPP would frustrate the conspiracies of the enemies of peace by their unity. We did not bow down in the past and we would not be browbeaten even today.

Mr Hussain warned the MQM workers throughout the country, particularly in Sindh, to remain physically and mentally alert for meeting the challenges of these conspirators. He was addressing a joint meeting of the Co-ordination Committee in London and Pakistan.
