Telephonic conversation with noted human rights activist Asma Jahangir
Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that it was highly unfortunate to call the people, who were struggling for the stability of the country, survival of democracy and the basic human rights of the deprived people, as traitors. He said that calling people traitors because of ideological and political differences must end. He was talking to the former president of the Supreme Court Bar Association and noted human rights leader Ms Asma Jahangir on the telephone.

The Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has expressed grief and sorrow on the unfortunate death of four brothers in Gilgit Colony, Korangi. The innocent children died after a wall of a house caved in. It condoled with the bereaved family members and prayed for the eternal peace for the departed souls. It demanded of Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad and Chief Minister Mr Qaim Ali Shah to pay compensation to the family of the unfortunate children. It said that steps should be taken to avoid such tragic incidents in the future.

There has been a telephonic conversation between Mr Altaf Hussain, founder and leader of the MQM, and President Asif Zardari on Tuesday night, in which the situation developing in the country regarding disqualification of Mr Yousuf Raza Gilani after the decision of the Supreme Court was discussed. He said that the government had acted wisely by accepting the decision of the court as it was necessary to avoid confrontation for the continuation of democracy in the country.

A joint and emergency meeting of the Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) in London and Karachi was held today to deliberate on the situation developing in the country after the judgment of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. The meeting unanimously observed that the MQM believes in the independence of judiciary and regards it with dignity.

Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) will hold the 20th anniversary of the martyrs of the 19th June 1992 throughout the country tomorrow. Gatherings will be held to pay tributes to the martyrs and fateha and recitation of the Holy Quran will be offered for their divine blessings. The main gathering will be held in Lal Qila Ground Azizabad after the Zuhr prayer. Fateha and recitation of the Holy Quran would be offered. The programme shall conclude after the Asr prayer.
