Altaf Hussain congratulates Raja Pervaiz Ashraf on taking oath of the office

Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has congratulated the newly elected prime minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf on taking oath of the office. He hoped that Prime Minister Ashraf would take steps for promoting democracy, bring stability in the country and for solving basic problems of the people. He also congratulated President Asif Zardari and Advisor on Interior Mr Rehman Malik.

Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that the public meeting of the Pashtun people being held on 24th June in Jinnah Ground Azizabad would prove to be a landmark for the people of the country, particularly for the Pashtun people. The public meeting would give a message of brotherhood and love to all the nationalities including the Pashtuns.
Mr Hussain commended the workers and office-bearers of Provincial Organizing Committee working actively for making the public meeting successful. He prayed for the workers that Allah may increase their attachment with the organization and give them knowledge and foresight. He appealed to the Pashtun people to participate in the public meeting in large number and make it a roaring success.

Mr Hussain said that the late Obaidullah Baig would always be remembered for his famous TV show “Kasauti."  He offered heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the divine blessings of the departed soul.

He said that he also belonged to the grass-roots like Mr Hussain and said it was a matter of pride for him that Mr Hussain had supported him in the election. The Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has expressed grief and sorrow on the unfortunate death of four brothers in Gilgit Colony, Korangi. The innocent children died after a wall of a house caved in. It condoled with the bereaved family members and prayed for the eternal peace for the departed souls. It demanded of Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad and Chief Minister Mr Qaim Ali Shah to pay compensation to the family of the unfortunate children. It said that steps should be taken to avoid such tragic incidents in the future.

A joint and emergency meeting of the Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) in London and Karachi was held today to deliberate on the situation developing in the country after the judgment of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. The meeting unanimously observed that the MQM believes in the independence of judiciary and regards it with dignity.
