The entire nation is united against the cowardly attack on Malala and her class fellows: Mrs Nasrin Jalil
Glowing tributes were paid to Malala Yousufzai, and a candlelight vigil was held at the MQM Head Office Nine Zero on the occasion of Malala International Day observed by the United Nations. A large number of people hailing from different walks of life, including women, children and young students participated in the programme in large numbers in order to express solidarity with Malala Yousufzai. They praised Malala for her courage and offered prayers for her complete recovery and well-being.
Deputy Conveners of the Co-ordination Committee Senator Mrs Nasreen Jalil, Mr Anis Qaimkhani, Dr Nusrat Shaukat, and members of the committee Mr Shoaib Bukhari, Mr Kunwar Khalid Yunus, and Mr Wasay Jalil, MNAs, MPAs and office-bearers of various wings of the MQM were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion Mrs Jalil said that the day was being observed in order to give a message to the Taliban terrorists that the entire nation was fully united against the cowardly attack on Malala, Shazia and Kainat. They are openly opposing with their determination the age-old system of the Taliban terrorists.
She said that Mr Altaf Hussain, the founder and leader of the MQM, is the only political leader of the country who condemned the brutal attack on Malala and her class fellows and termed it an attack on the daughter of the nation. She prayed for the speedy recovery and well-being of Malala.
Later on, candles were lit by the office-bearers and workers of various wings of the MQM, including the Women Wing, in order to pay tribute to Malala for her courage.
