SWEDEN’s ENVOY VISITS MQM HEAD OFFICE

Sweden’s ambassador to Pakistan, Mr Lars Hjalmar Wide, on Wednesday, visited the Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s founder and leader Altaf Hussain’s Azizabad residence `90’ and met the MQM Coordination Committee members Kunwar Naveed Jameel, Kanwar Khalid Younus and Wasey Jalil. The envoy and the Coordination Committee members during their meeting discussed the country’s political, socio-economic and other matters of mutual interest. The Haq Parast provincial minister, Nadia Gabol, and MPA Sindh Assembly, Khwaja Izhar-ul-Hassan, were also present on the occasion۔۔۔

A few days ago, MQM was able to arrange a substantially attended gathering of Pukhtuns at a public meeting in Karachi. It surprised many, for with so much blame of killings of the Pashto speaking people put on the shoulders of Altaf Hussein's party, one would have thought that this party had no support among this ethnic group in Karachi.

PM Ashraf welcomed the meeting between President Asif Zardari and Mr Hussain. Dr Farooq Sattar leaves for London for attending an international conference on Pakistan

The deputy convener of the Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) and Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Dr Muhammad Farooq Sattar has left for London today for attending an international conference on “Future of Pakistan - Evolving Paradigm." The two-day conference will start on 28th June and end on 29th June. Noted scholars, professors, technocrats, think-tanks, including Professor Stephen P Cohen from Brookings Institute of America will attend the conference. Moreover, parliamentarians from different countries, government and private officials will also attend the conference.

Altaf Hussain congratulates Pervaiz Elahi on becoming Deputy Prime Minister

Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain telephoned president of the PML (Q) Chaudhry Shujaat and Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi. He congratulated Mr Elahi on becoming the deputy prime minister of the country. He hoped that Mr Elahi would use his abilities in solving the problems of load-shedding, shortage of gas, water and other basic public issues. Estranged elements in Balochistan must be engaged in dialogues instead of being crushed by brute force
Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that all state institutions, including the armed forces, the judiciary and the parliament must work within their framework, and they must not overstep their authorities. Democracy should be allowed to continue in the country. He said this while welcoming the newly elected prime minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf at Nine Zero.

He sympathized with the bereaved family and prayed Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace.
