How is it possible for violence and bloodshed to continue unstoppably despite heavy presence of police, Rangers and other law-enforcing agencies? Expressing grave concerns on the increasing incidents of sectarian killings and targeted killings, the Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement has condemned the brutal killings of the MQM workers, sympathizers and several citizens. It said that the people belonging to the Shia and Sunni schools of thought had been killed in the city for the past few days but there had been a surge in these incidents for the last two days. It said that the MQM workers were also being targeted in different parts of the city and five MQM workers, and sympathizers had fallen victim during the last two days alone.

The PPP did not fulfill its promises despite repeated assurances
Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has given a three days ultimatum to the Pakistan People Party for accepting the legitimate demands of the MQM. The decision has been taken in a joint meeting of the Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement was held today in London and Pakistan. It has been decided in the meeting that the MQM would come out of the government and sit on the opposition benches if the legitimate demands were not accepted within three days.
It was noted in the meeting that the MQM had always given full support to the PPP and President Asif Zardari for the continuation and promotion of democracy in the country but the PPP did not accept the legitimate demands of the MQM that chiefly related to public welfare although repeated assurances were given by the PPP. The Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has deplored violent protests, firing, vandalism of public and private properties and arson attacks on the occasion of Youm-i-Ishq-i-Rasool in Karachi, Peshawar, Lahore and various other cities of the country. The Co-ordination Committee said that the sacrilegious film about the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is highly offensive to the Muslims and has hurt their religious sensibilities. It was decided to observe the Youm-i-Ishq-i-Rasool today in order to show our love for the Holy Prophet (PBUH), but the brazen manner in which police were attacked, gunshots were filed, police mobiles were torched, banks, shops, cinema houses and business centres were vandalized, public property was damaged and innocent people were killed negates the profession of love for the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
