The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) will address a gathering of the MQM workers and sympathizers on Sunday, 14th October in Jinnah Ground in Azizabad. Mr Hussain will speak in detail about the current situation in the country and he will also make important announcements. The address will start at 3:00 pm. The address will be relayed to similar gatherings held throughout the country simultaneously.

Prayer meeting at Nine Zero attended by thousands of people
Deputy Convener of the Co-ordination Committee of the MQM Mr Anis Ahmed Qaimkhani has said that the daughter of the nation Malala Yousufzai was shot in Sawat only because she was promoting knowledge among Pakistani girls and women. He said that the MQM leader Mr Altaf Hussain had forewarned the people that the Taliban were about to reach at their doorsteps but nobody believed him. He was speaking at a large prayer meeting held in Lal Qila Ground in Azizabad for Malala Yousufzai.
“Today Malala Yousufzai has been targeted in Sawat, and tomorrow the same fate can befall to other daughters of the nation in cities like Karachi, Rawalpindi, Hyderabad and Islamabad. We will have to defend ourselves and form committees for protecting our neighbourhoods.”

Altaf Hussain condemns attack on Malala Yousufzai

The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has strongly condemned the attack on the award-winning student from Sawat Malala Yousufzai by armed terrorists. He has expressed deep sorrow on the injuring of Malala and one another girl student in the attack. He said that firing upon innocent students and injuring them was blatant terrorism, and the perpetrators behind this vile act should be swiftly brought to justice.
Mr Hussain said that Malala Yousufzai had been working indefatigably for promoting education despite difficult circumstances. He appealed to President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik to take serious notice of the attack and take action against the elements involved in it. He expressed sympathies to the students who were injured in the attack and prayed for their speedy recovery.

He appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr Justice Iftakhar Muhammad Chaudhry, other honourable judges of the Supreme Court and people at the helm of affairs to reconsider the issue of the dual nationality. He said this while talking to the members of the Co-ordination Committee at the International Secretariat of the MQM in London.
MQM condemns grenade attacks on the houses of PPP leaders

The Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has strongly condemned grenade attacks on the houses of Agha Siraj Durrani, Ayaz Soomro and some other PPP leaders. It has termed the attacks on the houses of the PPP leaders as cowardly and called for stern action against the perpetrators. It said that the elements carrying out such attacks did not believe in democratic process and were resorting to violence which was highly condemnable.

Deputy Convener of the Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Dr Farooq Sattar has said that the majority of the people living in Karachi are peace-loving, and the huge success of the peace walk was a victory of the peace lovers and defeat of the enemies of peace. He said that only peace can guarantee advancement, and advancement would in turn bring prosperity. He was addressing the participants of a Peace Walk that started from Bagh-i-Iban-i-Qasim and terminated at the Teen Talwar.
Dr Sattar said that the peace of Karachi have given a very clear message to the criminal mafia and terrorists. They have rejected the extortion mafia and exposed the elements behind the incidents of kidnappings for ransom.
He said that it was a historic day. The people of Karachi have given a clear message to the government and the law-enforcing agencies as well that they would have to be taken on board in the process of establishing a durable peace in Karachi. They would have to be involved in the efforts for bringing peace in Karachi.
He said that there were only a handful of criminal elements, religious extremists and terrorists practising violence in order to achieve their vile objectives.
