APMSO calls for establishing new engineering universities in Sindh particularly Karachi

A large number of meritorious students are left out due to inadequate capacities in existing universities All Pakistan Muttahida Students Organization (APMSO) has called for establishing engineering universities in Sindh, particularly Karachi in view of the increasing demand for engineering education. In a statement, the central cabinet of the APMSO, urged upon President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad and Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah to establish government engineering universities in the province as a large number of meritorious students are left out due to insufficient capacities in the existing government universities.

Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mr Abbas Ali Abdullahi paid a farewell visit to the MQM Head Office Nine Zero and met Deputy Conveners of the Co-ordination Committee Dr Farooq Sattar and Senator Mrs Nasrin Jalil. Member of the Co-ordination Committee Mr Kunwar Khalid Yunus was also present on the occasion. Other members of the Iranian delegation included vice consul Mr Hassan Muhammadi, First Consul Mr Sadiqul Amlah, First Consul Mr Syed Muhammad Kazim Abidi, and Commercial Consul Mr Sattar Sultan Shahi.

In a statement, the committee said the terrorists are busy in creating instability and insecurity in the city under a deep-rooted conspiracy. The murder of Syed Haider Abbass Jafri is also the outcome of the same nefarious conspiracy.

He expressed his grief and sorrow on the killing and injuring of several people in the blast. In a statement, Mr Hussain said that the savage terrorists behind attacks on the mourning processions are trying to drive a wedge between the followers of different sects. The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) held a protest outside the Houses of Parliaments on Friday to express solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza. The demonstrators were carrying placard which read "Save the Children of Gaza", "Peace, Not War", "We express solidarity with the people of Gaza" and "We strongly condemn atrocities against the people of Gaza". The solidarity demonstration was held after the MQM leader Altaf Hussain called on his party to observe a day of solidarity with the Palestinians and help the occupied people highlight their case and the in human conditions under which they are forced to live. Hussain has questioned the United Nations Security Council, Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Pakistani government over their "blatant silence" on the suffering of Palestinians and have called on the world power, to end their Insensitivity" and "cold-heartedness' over the issue which relates to peace in the world.
