MQM seeks to serve the people instead of merely acquiring political power: Dr Farooq Sattar

MQM has cross a sea of troubles in the past and its struggle will continue unstoppably
Deputy Convener of the Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Dr Farooq Sattar has said that the MQM did not bow before any oppressive force in the past and the struggle for truth and justice would continue. The struggle of the MQM is motivated by the welfare of the people of Pakistan and progress for the country instead of merely acquiring political power.
Dr Sattar said that the changing of electoral constituencies and verification of voters in Karachi alone are conspiracies to subvert the mandate of the MQM.

Message on the occasion of the Martyrs Day on 9th December
Paying rich tributes to the haq parast martyrs, Mr Altaf Hussain, the Founder and Leader of the MQM, said that the brave workers of the MQM gave their lives but remained steadfast and did not bow before the oppressive forces. The successes achieved by the MQM are the outcomes of the immortal sacrifices rendered by martyrs.
In a message on the occasion of the “Martyrs Day” Mr Hussain said that the nations that forget their martyrs are cast into oblivion by the swift course of time. “The MQM observes the martyrs day on 9th December in order to commemorate the sacrifices of the martyrs and pays them homage by offering fateha and other programmes.”
Belgian ambassador visits Nine Zero

Ambassador of Belgium Mr Peter Claes visited the MQM Head Office Nine Zero with the First Secretary Dr Stphane Mand. They were warmly received by Deputy Conveners of the Co-ordination Committee Dr Farooq Sattar and Senator Mrs Nasrin Jalil. Dr Sattar briefed the visiting diplomats about the changing circumstances in Karachi with particular reference to the increasing activities of Taliban. He informed on the deteriorating law and order situation in Karachi. Member of the Co-ordination Committee Mr Kunwar Khalid Yunus and Provincial Minister for Youth Affairs Mr Faisal Sabzwari were also present on the occasion.

Deputy Convener of the Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) and Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Dr Farooq Sattar visited Karachi Expo Centre in order to see the 8th Karachi International Book Fair. He went to the stall of the Literature Committee of the MQM on which books on the political struggle of Mr Altaf Hussain and the party literature were displayed. Former MNA Tayyab Hussain was also accompanying Dr Sattar. Speaking on the occasion Dr Sattar commended the efforts of Pakistan Publishers and Book Sellers Association and said that such positive steps would help in drawing the attention of young generation to book-reading. The stall of the MQM Literature Committee of the MQM drew a large number of visitors who showed keen interest in the party literature.

He said that Islam teaches us to respect places of worship and graveyards of other religions and hence the act of damaging graves in Ahmadiyya graveyard is against the teachings of Islam, inhuman and worthy of strong condemnation. Addressing a mammoth gathering in Jinnah Ground in Azizabad, the Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has warned against imposing judicial martial law in the country. He said that the MQM cannot be eliminated through state operation or conspiracies.
“The remarks of the honourable judge of the Supreme Court about fresh delimitation of electoral constituencies in Karachi so that no party has a monopoly are an affront to 20 million people of Karachi.”
