Such cowardly acts are bringing a bad name to the country
The Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has expressed grief and sorrow on the death of Swedish Social Worker Birgitta Alemby who was shot by armed terrorists in Lahore a few days ago. It condemned the cowardly acts of targeting volunteers of NGOs in the country and said that such acts are bringing a bad name to the country in the world. It demanded President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik to take notice of the killing of the Swedish women who was running orphanages in Lahore. The committee urged upon them to bring the perpetrators to justice.

A delegation of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) called upon Chairman of Pakistan Ulema Council in a local hotel in Karachi. Current situation in the country, challenges facing Pakistan and the continuing sectarian killings in Karachi were discussed in detail in the meeting. The MQM delegation included members of the Co-ordination Committee Mr Wasim Aftab, Mr Saif Yar Khan, provincial minister Khalid Umer, MPA Abdul Rauf Siddiqui and office-bearers of the Ulema Committee of the MQM.

The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement telephoned at Khursheed Begum Secretariat and obtained information about organisational activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan from Pakhtun member of the Co-ordination Committee Mr Gulfaraz Khattak and Baloch member Mr Yousuf Shahwani.
