The Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has strongly condemned the grenade attacks on transporters and business persons for refusing to pay extortion money and expressed deep concerns on the increasing activities of extortion mafia in the heavy presence of law-enforcing agencies. It said that the brazen manner in which the criminals are operating in the city gives the impression that they have been given the license to pursue their nefarious activities.

The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that the problems of the poor and oppressed people throughout the country are similar in nature. Their problems have nothing to do with their nationality, language, race, colour, religion or sect. He said that the oppressed people should get united and make a concerted effort against the monolith of feudalism and serfdom. He expressed these views while talking to the members of the various committees at Nine Zero.

Deputy Conveners of the Co-ordination Committee of the MQM Dr Farooq Sattar, Senator Mrs Nasreen Jalil, Anis Ahmed Qaimkhani, Dr Nusrat Shaukat and the sister of Mr Altaf Hussain Mrs Saira Khatoon visited the monument built in the Jinnah Ground in memory of the martyrs of the MQM and laid floral wreaths. Other members of the committee, MQM parliamentarians and office-bearers of different wings of the MQM were also present on the occasion. They offered prayers for the martyrs and for the success of the just struggle of the MQM. They also prayed Allah to give patience to the relatives of the martyrs and for freedom of the incarcerated workers.
