Mr Francis Campbell, Deputy High Commissioner of UK in Karachi, called on the founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain in London. The good-will meeting was held in the International Secretariat of the MQM in London. The meeting between Mr Hussain and Mr Campbell continued for over two and a half hour. Overall political situation of Pakistan, international affairs and other issues of mutual interests were discussed in detail in the meeting. Members of the MQM Co-ordination Committee Mr Tariq Jawed, Mr Saleem Shahzad, Mr Asif Siddiqui, Mr Wasay Jalil, Mr Mustafa Azizabadi and Mr Qasim Ali Raza were also present during the meeting

19th DEATH ANNIVERSARY OF AZEEM AHMED TARIQ OBSERVED BY MQM

The 19th death anniversary of the martyred Chairman of the MQM Azeem Ahmed Tariq was observed with reverence, and rich tributes were paid to the martyred chairman of the party. Fateha and recitation of the Holy Quran were offered in Lal Qila Ground Azizabad. Deputy Convener of the Co-ordination Committee Dr Farooq Sattar and members Shoaib Bukhari, Kunwar Khalid Yunus, Raza Haroon, Wasim Aftab and Iftakhar Randhawa, Salim Tajik, Mumtaz Anwar and office-bearers and different wings of the MQM attended the gathering. Special prayers were offered for Azeem Ahmed Tariq and other martyrs of the movement. Prayers were also offered for the good health and long life of MQM leader Mr Altaf Hussain.

The petition filed by Dr Farooq Sattar, Deputy Convener of the Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement, for recovery of damages against TV anchor person Kashif Abbasi has been admitted for hearing by the Sindh High Court. The defamation suit was filed by Dr Sattar in response to the malicious allegations by Kashif Abbasi against Mr Altaf Hussain.
