Opponents of Local Government system enemies of democracy: Altaf Hussain

 Live Speech

Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain said here on Saturday all those elements opposing local government system in Sindh are dictators and enemies of democracy.

He also lashed out at the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz for extending its support to the separatist and nationalist elements of Sindh, saying that such an act on the party amounted to strengthening enemies of Pakistan.

Mr. Hussain was making a telephonic address at the general workers meetings held at Karachi and across the country, simultaneously, under the aegis of MQM. Tens of thousands MQM workers including women attended the meetings.

He appealed to all the Haq Parast people of Sindh to reject and completely boycott the Sept 13 strike of the so-called nationalists.

In this regard, he pointed out that at a time when conspiracies are being hatched for the sectarian riots in the country and the minorities including Hindus, Christians and other non-Muslims were being discriminated, the act of giving call for a strike by the separatist elements amounted to creating chaos and unrest in Sindh.

Referring to the arrest of Ramsha Masih in a false case, Mr Hussain demanded her immediate release and demanded of the government to protect the life and property of Christians, Hindus, Sikh, Parsi and other non-Muslims living in Pakistan.

He said that though the PML-Nawaz by supporting the separatist elements in Sindh was patronizing those conspiring to break Pakistan, it would never succeed in its nefarious design in the presence of MQM as all those who reside in Sindh and whether they speak Sindhi, Punjabi, Pashto, Balochi Hazara , Seraiki, Kashmiri or any other language would foil all conspiracies of breaking Pakistan and also of dividing Sindh.

In this regard, Mr Hussain said that a party which had stolen the name of Quaid-e-Azam’s Muslim League and its leader wanted to be become `Ameer-ul-Momineen’ but his dream would never come true.

He said that though PML-N workers acts of welcoming the Train March of the separatist and prejudice element and backing those who are out to spread unrest in Sindh were proofs that the party was conspiring against Pakistan, MQM would never allow PML-N to succeed in its nefarious designs.

Accusing the PML-N of usurping the rights of the people living in Bhawalpur and Southern Punjab since long, Mr. Hussain assured the people of Bhawalpur and Southern Punjab that MQM would continue its struggle to get their rights restored.

He vehemently declared on this occasion that the PPP and the MQM would not only enforce the local bodies system in Sindh but would also leave no stone unturned in protecting the country’s survival and democracy.

Tracing the country’s history, Mr. Hussain said that “Sindh by its vote created Pakistan, Founder of the Nation Quiad-i-Azam belonged to Sindh, three prime ministers belonging to the province embraced martyrdom for the sake of Pakistan and democracy and now it would be, Inshallah, Sindh which would help save Pakistan.”
