ALTAF HUSSAIN CONDEMNS TERRORIST ATTACK ON THE FISH SHOP ON JAMSHED ROAD

Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has strongly condemned the attack with hand grenades on a fish shop on Jamshed Road by armed terrorists. He said that the terrorists were openly demanding extortion money from shopkeepers and business persons in Karachi and attacking business centres and shops with hand grenades if their demands were not met. He said it was a matter of disbelief and great concern for the citizens that no action was being taken by police and other law-enforcing agencies against these terrorists.

The mayhem in Karachi in which twelve innocent lives were lost during a rally on May 22 again points to a malaise we refuse to see, much less feel and understand. The rally itself was only incidental. It was ostensibly against a recent spate of wall chalking in Karachi propagating the creation of “Mohajir Sooba”. In reality, it was symptomatic of a deeper crisis. The crisis of confidence, lack of it actually, in any authority, be it administrative or political.

CERTAIN ELEMENTS IN SINDH ARE TRYING TO SPARK OFF VIOLENCE IN SINDH The Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has strongly condemned the incident of firing on a passenger bus bound for Kohat near the town of Qazi Ahmed in Sindh by armed terrorists. The committee expressed its grief and sorrow over the deaths of several persons in the attack and injuries suffered by some other passengers.

Members of Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan have denounced the forced marriage of 13 years old girl with a 60 years old man in Peshawar. Mr Gulfraz Khan Khattak and Mr Yusuf Shahwani condemned the incident and said that the forced marriage of the young girl, subjecting her to bodily torture and keeping her in chains was disgusting.
