Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s Coordination Committee announced to observe a day of mourning on Sunday across Sindh to lodge its protest over the killing and maiming of its several workers and sympathizers in two successive bomb blasts that occurred at its Unit Office, located adjacent to MQM headquarters `Nine Zero’ in Azizabad, on Saturday.
In a strongly-worded statement issued on Saturday, the MQM Coordination Committee condemned the terrorist attack and expressed its deep grief and sorrow over the killing of its workers and sympathizers.
The Coordination Committee appealed to business community and transporters to participate in the day of mourning by voluntarily keeping their business and transport suspended throughout the province.
The Committee also appealed to people and workers to remain patient over the terrorists’ attacks, observe a peaceful day of mourning and organize Quran Khwani and Fateha congregations for the early recovery of workers and sympathizers.
It also appealed to the office-bearers and workers of MQM’s Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Baluchistan, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan’s zonal, district and units and people to organize Quran Khwani for those who lost their lives in the Saturday’s terrorists attacks and pray for the speedy recovery of those sustained injuries.
The Coordination Committee urged its workers and sympathizers to demonstrate their unity, refrain from being instigated over such attacks and continue their struggle by not getting disappointed over the terrorists’ frequent acts cowardice.
