Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s Coordination Committee announced to observe a `day of mourning’ across Sindh on Friday to protest against the killings of its five workers in a bomb blast when they were busy in election activities near the party’s closed election office, located in North Nazimabad’s Nusrat Bhutto Colony on Thursday.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the MQM Coordination committee said that the day of mourning was being observed across Sindh on Friday to voice its concern over the frequent killings of its office-bearers, workers and sympathizers in bomb blasts and targeted attacks.
The MQM Coordination Committee appealed to Sindh’s Haq Parast people, businessmen, transporters and the people belonging to different walks of life to protest over the unabated killings of MQM’s innocent workers in acts of terrorism by keeping all their business activities, including transport, suspended on the mourning day so as to prove that the entire nation was against the terrorists’ acts of cowardice.
The Coordination Committee also appealed to workers and people of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Baluchistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir to hold protest meetings in their respective areas, hoist black flags on offices to protest against frequent killings of MQM workers, besides organizing Quran Khawani to pay homage to the Haq Parast martyrs.
