Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that the security, sovereignty and integrity of the country is under threat. He said that it is highly regrettable that instead of thinking about the survival of the country, the politicians were busy in power politics and not thinking about the country. He said this while giving a lecture in the International Secretariat of the MQM in London.

Deputy Convener of the Co-ordination Committee of the MQM and Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Dr Farooq Sattar has said that the advent of a revolution in Pakistan cannot be stopped. Change in the country is the need of the hour but the change should be on permanent basis.
He was addressing a large public gathering in Jahaniyan in southern Punjab. A large number of people living in Jahaniyan and the adjoining areas had come to attend the MQM public meeting. Members of the Co-ordination Committee Mr Wasay Jalil, Mr Aftakhar Akbar Randhawa, In-charge MQM Multan Zone Mr Khalid Jawed and other local officials were also present on the occasion.

He said that the holy month of Ramadan was about to start and the traders and business persons were highly apprehensive about the increasing incidents of extortion, kidnapping for ransom, and bloodshed in the city.

The Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has condemned the NEPRA for allowing the KESC an increase of Rs. 1.64 per unit in its tariff in terms of the fuel adjustment. It termed the decision against the people of Karachi saying they were using electricity at higher tariff as compared to other parts of the country. It said that the hike in the tariff in the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan was highly unjust.

It said that the brutal incident was reminiscent of the dark ages. The incident had also shown that the light of knowledge and modern education had not yet reached in many areas of the country even in the 21st century. The hearts and minds of some people were still controlled by the medieval feudal customs and thoughts.
