Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has expressed his grief and sorrow on the death of the wife of noted satirist and poet Mr Haider Hasnain Jaleesi. He offered condolences to Mr Jaleesi and other members of the family and prayed Almighty Allah to shower his blessings on the departed soul. He also prayed Allah to give patience to the mournful family to bear the irreparable loss.

A telephonic conversation was held between the MQM Founder and Leader Mr Altaf Hussain and President Asif Zardari on Thursday night. Both the leaders exchanged views on national and international challenges facing the country, political situation, the law and order situation in the country, particularly with reference toKarachi, and restoration of the local government system.

Mr Hussain informed President Zardari about the apprehensions and concerns of the business community and the general public about the crimes of extortion, grenade-attacks and kidnappings for ransom. He called for action against the criminal elements operating in the city.

He warned that he would disclose the names of the persons and the powerful agency supporting and sponsoring the criminals involved in extortion and kidnappings for ransom, if the government failed to act. Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad was also present in the meeting besides Deputy Convener of the Co-ordination Committee Mr Anis Ahmed Qaimkhani and members Mr Raza Haroon, Mr Anis Ahmed Advocate, Mr Qasim Ali Raza, Mr Muhammad Anwar and Mr Tariq Mir.
