People who are demanding severe punishment or hanging for General Musharraf under Article 6 of the Constitution by holding him solely responsible for the declaration of emergency should respond with sound arguments or take back their demand.
Addressing the aware people of Pakistan, students of Constitution and law, particularly the top constitutional and legal experts of the country and political and defence analysts, the Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement Altaf Hussain said that he would bring some hard facts before the people who were demanding severe punishment for General Pervez Musharraf under Article 6 of the Constitution by holding him solely responsible for the declaration of emergency.

Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain has said that the act of holding only General Pervez Musharraf responsible for enforcing emergency or martial law in the country with an attempt to save his collaborators amounted to a conspiracy not only against one person but against the entire country.
“If it is necessary to try Gen Pervez Musharraf under Article 6 then it should be initiated since Oct 12, 1999, instead of November 3, 2007 and not only Gen Musharraf but all those who abetted be tried,” he added.

KARACHI: “This jalsa means a new life for us workers,” said Muhammad Arshad excitedly, clutching a party flag in one hand and holding his son with the other. Making his way through the huge crowd, he shouted, “Today is the start of a revolution,” as a bunch of young men erupted into ‘Jeay Altaf’ slogans.
On Sunday, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) did all it could to justify its claims of hosting the biggest congregation in Pakistan’s political history as part of its campaign for the upcoming local bodies elections.
