ISLAMABAD: A recently retired lieutenant general and a retired air vice marshal have highlighted some basic lapses in the present military strategy for Pakistan’s war-on-terror. Former IGP of the Frontier Corps, KP and former corps commander Mangla Lt. MQM Founder and Leader Altaf Hussain has appealed to Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif to intervene for stopping the excesses being committed by Rangers in Karachi. He asked the COAS to limit the Karachi Operation to its declared objectives of eliminating targeted killings and extremism instead of targeting the MQM so that the situation does not go out of control.
