The founder and leader of MQM Mr. Altaf Hussain has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the tragic incident in Rawalpindi in which seven people have died and scores of wounded.
Mr. Hussain has demand an action from the Federal and Punjab Government to control the situation and arrest the people responsible for the tragic incident. He added that they must take every possible measures to control violence.

The founder and leader of MQM Mr. Altaf Hussain has said, “To sacrifice one’s comfort for the service of mankind is the best form of worship.” 
In a statement on the occasion of Ashura Mr. Hussain appreciated the services rendered by MQM’s office bearers, elected representatives, MQM’s workers especially members of MQMs’ Medical Aid Committee for the mourners of Hussain (Azadaran-e-HUSSAIN (AS) across Pakistan, including Karachi.

MQM’s Rabitta Committee has strongly condemned the response of Jamaat-e-Islami  to ISPR’s statement. Jamaat Islami has termed it a political statement.
In a statement they said that the Jamaat should have extended an apology for pronouncing a killer of thousands of Pakistanis, officers and soldiers of Pak Army as a martyr by its chief , who had tried to belittle the sacrifices and accomplishment of our soldiers by his statement. He should have asked for forgiveness from the nation. However, they  have shamelessly termed the ISPR Press release a political statement.

Mr. Hussain expressed these views while addressing the Rabita Committee at the Nine Zero. He added that MQM is a movement which has emanated from the middle class and the poor.  It believes in a meritocratic system from its inception.
