Year 2014 could be a “make or break” year for Pakistan – Altaf Hussain

Mr Altaf Hussain, founder and leader of MQM, has said that the year 2014 could not only turn out to be a tough and challenging year for Pakistan, it could also be a “make or break” year for the country. Citing the challenges that the New Year could pose to Pakistan, Mr Altaf Hussain said that “I passionately appeal to all those forces that run Pakistan overtly and covertly that instead of repeating mistakes made in the past, please make decisions that are essential for country’s security, prosperity and implement on those decisions without wasting any moment.

MQM’s Rabita Committee has expressed condemnation of the attack on the car of a prominent Shia scholar Mirza Yusuf Hussain in Gulistan-e-Jauhar in the strongest possible terms. They expressed deep sorrow and grief over the death of the policeman and his personal bodyguard. A policeman was injured too in the attack.

MQM’s member of Provincial Assembly has expressed condemnation of low gas pressure problem faced by consumers in Karachi, Hyderabad and other parts of the country.
They said domestic gas consumers are facing stressful challenge to perform their basic tasks.
In a joint statement they said, “ People are already facing problems of power shortage , disruption in water supply, unemployment and other basic problems.
