Karachi: More leaders of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Thursday joined their six colleagues in observing a hunger strike unto death to register their protest against the pitiable plight of the Mohajir community.

Mqm intiated indefinite hunger strike

Muttahida Qaumi Movement has initiated an indefinite hunger strike until death on the atrocities committed by Law Enforcement authorities under the garb of a an operation. MQM's workers are randomly being arrested, tortured and charged with cooked up cases. More than 5500 leaders and workers have been arrested out of which 1200 are facing trial of the cases, while the rest were let go after 90 days detention and severe torture. There are 62 workers who were extra-judicially killed under custody and 134 still missing since the operation started in 2013
