Altaf Hussain Urges Field Marshal Asim Munir and Pakistan Army Generals to End the Corrupt System, Hold Talks with All Political Leaders, and Ensure Free and Fair Elections

My message to Field Marshal Asim Munir, Corps Commanders, operational commanders, and all the generals of the Pakistan Army is that the corrupt system prevailing in the country is responsible for Pakistan’s destruction and devastation. Change this system. For this purpose, engage in dialogue with everyone. Talk to Imran Khan and talk to Altaf Hussain. As far as I am concerned, I want nothing for myself. I do not want to become President or Prime Minister. I am not against Pakistan; I am against the corrupt system. I want to bring about a change in the system in Pakistan. I want a system based on merit and a just system in which all citizens enjoy their rights, everyone receives justice, and the dignity and self-respect of the people are respected, regardless of whether they are rich or poor. For the betterment of the system, national unity, the country’s development, and the elimination of corruption, adopt whichever of my proposals you consider beneficial. If you disagree with any of them, let us discuss them. Pakistan apparently gained independence in 1947, but it became a garrison state for global powers. Even today, our foreign policy comes from the United States. I urge the rulers and all military generals to stop working to please the United States and other global powers and instead think about the welfare of Pakistan and its people. Work in the public interest and rid the country of thieves and plunderers. Free, fair, and transparent elections should be held in the country, in which all political parties are allowed to participate. The people must have the freedom to cast their votes independently and elect representatives of their choice. Whether the people give their mandate to Imran Khan or to anyone else, power must be handed over to whoever receives that mandate from the people.
