I want to break Pakistan free from the control of feudal lords and waderas. I'm pushing for a system in this country where every single citizen enjoys the exact same rights, no matter what their religion or beliefs happen to be.
It’s not that I'm opposed to any specific person, province, or political party; instead, I am against a system where power is treated as superior to the law itself.
I oppose the wadera setup in Sindh, those feudal structures in Punjab and other provinces, the corruption, and a political arrangement where democratic institutions are always kept subordinate to the military establishment.
I want to be clear that I am not against the army itself. Instead, I oppose the policies of certain generals when their decisions end up causing harm to the country and its people.
We’ve seen how, in the past, the name of religion and Islam was exploited for specific agendas. Because of that misguided policy, religious extremism and Talibanisation were able to spread across the country.
People throughout Pakistan have had to endure the effects of this, particularly those in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Back then, I used to warn them that the Taliban they were creating would eventually turn into a monster and come back to bite them.
However, people just took my words the wrong way, thinking I was being anti-army.
Well, today the results of those policies are right in front of everyone's face.
We're seeing suicide attacks across the country, and both army personnel and innocent civilians are dying because of it. Also, when Imran Khan's government was removed and he was arrested, I spoke out against it and issued statements supporting him.
Some members of MQM asked me why I was supporting him after he had been very critical of me before.
I explained to my team that they should not focus on who has treated them unfairly; instead, they should consider how they can help someone in their tough times.
When Nawaz Sharif's wife, Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, got sick in London, I arranged for some colleagues to go see her and check on her condition.
When Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz were taken into custody, I spoke out against their detainment.
I have always defended those who face unfair treatment. I consistently stand up for the vulnerable and oppose wrongdoing, no matter the political party, region, or beliefs of the individual.
When I expressed my concerns about the system, there were attempts on my life in Pakistan.
I was also hit by a grenade. After that, my coworkers asked me to come to London for a while.
I wished to go back to Pakistan, but I couldn’t get back there.
I kept fighting for change from here, and I am still working hard for a better system in Pakistan.
