Name any other person in Pakistan, besides Altaf Hussain who came from a working-class background and created the third biggest political party in the country.
If there is someone like Altaf Hussain, please let us know.

Back about forty years ago, when Altaf Hussain used to speak up against corrupt army generals messing in politics and acting against the Constitution, people in Punjab just didn't get what he was trying to say. Instead, they branded him an enemy of the country , anti-army, and subjected him to all sorts of allegations. However, fast forward to today, when Imran Khan is facing the same accusations for saying the very same things, suddenly everyone is saying these charges are wrong.
Honestly, what kind of mindset is that?
How were the allegations against Altaf Hussain considered correct back then, while the identical ones against Imran Khan are now wrong?
Try to name just one other leader in Pakistan, besides Altaf Hussain, who came from a real middle-class family. Someone who actually had to pay for their own education by tutoring and running small stalls. Who else built such a massive political party, worked as a common laborer, spent time in factories, and went street to street, working day and night, just to grow that party into the third largest in the country?
Seriously, name anyone else apart from Altaf Hussain who put his own party workers into the assemblies, but never became a member himself, and never sent his own brothers or sisters to fill those seats either.
Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari are still alive; you can ask them if Altaf Hussain ever took even a small piece of land or money for himself, or if he ever requested anything for himself or his family.
If anyone else is like Altaf Hussain, please come forward.
Altaf Hussain aimed to transform the old and corrupt system that existed in the nation.
He shared his ideas all over the country, welcomed people from various backgrounds, and started working to grow the MQM across Pakistan.
The army initiated a large operation against the MQM, and this is still ongoing.
I was the only in the MQM who was against involving the party in parliamentary politics, but the Central Committee insisted, so we went ahead with it.
I understood that parliamentary politics in Pakistan is very messy.
I told my Central Committee that anyone you send to the assemblies would be in trouble, because the institutions in Pakistan are very complicated.
They might look good from the outside, but anyone who gets in gets stuck in the mess and trouble.
I haven't seen anyone come out of it unscathed, and that includes my own people, too.
Altaf Hussain.
