I challenge all anchors, YouTubers, and vloggers who level allegations against me to sit before me and hold a debate. This is the tragedy that most of Pakistan’s current anchors, YouTubers, and vloggers are not even familiar with the history of #Pakistan. Hence, whatever they state in their programs, commentary, and analyses is not knowledge but is based on lies, deception, or their political affiliations. Since they themselves do not know Pakistan’s history, they convey a false version of history to the public. The result of not knowing history or reading something that is based on lies is that the new generation of Pakistan does not even know that Bangladesh was once a part of Pakistan and was known as East Pakistan. Most anchors and YouTubers in Pakistan themselves belong to the elite class of the country. Instead of attending Pakistani public schools, they studied in grammar schools in Britain and the United States. They do not even know the basics of journalism; they only know how to speak well. Some are picked up by civil or military agencies, after which they stop presenting facts and only present the narrative given to them by these agencies. They are also unaware of Pakistan’s political leaders, their political parties, and their struggles, and they speak the language of the agencies when talking about these leaders and their parties. repeat the same old fabricated allegations and accusations against Altaf Hussain and his MQM that reflect the narrative of the army and its agencies. Some of these anchors and YouTubers were born after the formation of Altaf Hussain’s organisation All Pakistan Muhajir Students Organisation (APMSO) on 11 June 1978, while some were only a few years old at the time. How could they know about Altaf Hussain’s struggle? They accuse me of being created by General Zia Ul Haque. They do not know that when I began my struggle in 1978 through APMSO, it was the martial law government of General Zia Ul Haque that arrested me and sentenced me to nine months imprisonment and five lashes through a summary military court. I was pressured to end my movement and offered various incentives, all of which I refused. I completed my sentence and never begged the martial law government for my release. All three of my arrests in Pakistan took place during General Zia’s military rule. Name even one political leader of today who was punished by General Zia’s summary military courts and is still involved in political struggle. What do these anchors and YouTubers know that I funded my own education by teaching tuition and selling Eid cards on roadside stalls. I worked as a pharmacist in pharmaceutical companies and sacrificed my degree for the rights of Muhajirs and other oppressed communities. At Karachi University, the Islami Jamiat Talaba expelled us at gunpoint out of fear of our growing popularity. Altaf Hussain went door to door spreading the message of the movement and eventually founded the Muhajir Qaumi Movement on 18 March 1984. Even today, they accuse me of the shameful lie of Jinnahpur, whereas the fact is on record and senior journalists of Pakistan know that when the military operation against MQM began on 19 June 1992, a military officer Brigadier Asif Haroon summoned journalists from Punjab and accused MQM of making maps of Jinnahpur to defame Altaf Hussain and #MQM and turn the people of Pakistan, especially Punjab, against them. Fake and self-created maps were shown. But when I challenged this allegation and asked for it to be presented before the Supreme Court, the army withdrew the allegation and stated that no Jinnahpur maps had been recovered.
Altaf Hussain, who is the only leader from the lower middle class, was targeted by state agencies through planned riots, and the blame was placed on me so that the public would be turned against me. People know the truth, yet these anchors and YouTubers still level false accusations against me. These anchors and YouTubers sitting abroad, despite being angry with the establishment, have never changed their narrative about me. They still speak the language of the army and its agencies to keep their connection with the army, because Altaf Hussain is a red line for them. I challenge all these anchors, YouTubers, and vloggers to sit before me and debate. Present evidence for their allegations and accusations. I will prove with arguments that their claims are wrong and false. These anchors and YouTubers make accusations but never acknowledge that Altaf Hussain is the only leader from the middle class, whose party has no feudal landlords, and who for the first time in the country’s history sent young people from poor, lower middle class, and middle class backgrounds to the assemblies. They mention Imran Khan, whereas Imran Khan was abroad playing cricket until 1992. I still say today that you may disagree with Altaf Hussain's politics and ideology, but refrain from making false accusations and fabricated allegations. And if you are truthful in your claims, then sit before me and debate.
