MQM has given a 72 hour ultimatum to the government to investigate into the extrajudicial executions of four workers, recovery of all workers who have become victims of enforced disappearance and stop the gruesome torture on illegally detained workers. They demanded that the government should fulfil all constitutional and legal requirements to hold people in detention.
Rabita Committee has demand that the General Raheel should direct Corps Commander Karachi to form a commission to investigate into the extrajudicial executions of MQM’s workers. They added that it help bring the facts before the public that Rangers personnel are abetting the plain-cloth personnel in executing MQM workers extra judicially.
They have also demanded that Prime Minister Nawaz should form a judicial commission to investigate into the murders.
“If the missing workers are not recovered and raids and torture on illegally detained workers are not stopped with 72 hours and action is not taken against the law enforcement personnel responsible for the extrajudicial killings of MQM workers and supporters then MQM will launch peaceful protests. It will stage protests on national highways across and tell the world about the state repression, “ Rabita Committee warned in plain words.
Addressing the press conference Dr. Farooq Sattar informed the journalists said, “ MQM has sent petitions to human rights organizations on April 15 regarding extrajudicial killing of its workers. We have also filed petitions in the High Court.
“Marks of torture on our slain workers can send a child down to a person with kind heart. It brings tears. They were shot in heads. Their bodies were drilled and smeared with cigarettes and iron rods. Skin has come out of their bodies because of torture, “ Dr. Farooq said.
“MQM is a responsible party and we don’t believe in hurling accusations on individuals or institutions. We have done our investigation and we have brought the findings to public, “ Dr. Farooq said.
“Since the inception of Targeted Operation in September 2013 our local offices have been shut down. Our workers gathers in different public places in order to discuss organizational work.  Our slain workers have gathered at a snooker club, which is situated in Country Tower. They were picked by a group of plain-cloth men who were armed and taken to Rangers check post near Al-Asif Square.  A masked informer identified them at the check post. After the identification MQM workers were taken away in a Rangers vehicle to an undisclosed location.  These workers who were arrested on April 13 were subjected to inhuman torture. On April 30 four workers were executed and their mutilated bodies were dumped near Memon Goth. We still don’t know anything about the two worker were arrested with the slain workers, “ Dr. Farooq Sattar said.
Dr. Farooq Sattar said that MQM had always said that people who were involved in criminal activities should be prosecuted regardless of their political affiliation. He added that some Rangers personnel have become judges and passing out judgment against illegally detained persons.
