Nadeem Nusrat has been made Acting Convener of the Co-ordination Committee of MQM while Amir Khan has been made Senior Deputy Convener. The decision was taken in a meeting earlier today to deliberate on organizational matters and ways to improve them. MQM Founder and Leader Mr Altaf Hussain has given his assent to these decisions.

The 81 year prison sentence awarded to Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain by an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Gilgit is illogical, cryptic and unreasonable according to the basic principles of jurisprudence. Besides the jail term that is supposed to be served concurrently under various charges, the court has imposed a fine of Rs 2.4 million on Altaf Hussain and directed the Sindh Inspector General of police to produce him before the court.
