The MQM USA Houston Chapter organized a candlelight vigil to express solidarity with the victims of the New Orleans tragedy in Louisiana, following the directives of MQM founder and leader, Mr. Altaf Hussain.

Speaking at the event, MQM Coordination Committee member Syed Atif Shamim stated that Mr. Altaf Hussain has always condemned acts of terrorism and violence around the world and instructed MQM workers to provide all possible support to victims. The vigil, held outside a local shopping mall, was attended by a large number of MQM members, supporters, and community leaders. Participants held placards and banners in support of the New Orleans victims, while women and children carried lit candles as a symbol of unity and compassion.

Community leaders also lauded the MQM Houston Chapter for its efforts in promoting interfaith harmony and thanked Mr. Altaf Hussain for his vision and leadership in opposing radical ideologies.

Prominent attendees included Joint In-charge Asim Rizvi, committee members Waseem Ahmed, Nauman Burney, Kabir Alvi, Sajid Farhad, Muhammad Burhan, and community figures such as Ghulam Mohiuddin Chishti, Azam Akhtar, Nasir Abbasi, Feroz Ahmed, and Shahab Alvi.
