IMRAN KHAN'S LIFE IN GRAVE DANGER IN PRISON: ALTAF HUSSAIN

LONDON. [UK]. , October 15: MQM founder Altaf Hussain has raised serious concerns over the health and safety of former Prime Minister and PTI leader Imran Khan, who is currently imprisoned in Adiala Jail.

Addressing his followers during a TikTok Study Circle, Hussain called upon PTI workers to take matters into their own hands and act to save their leader’s life, instead of relying on the party’s current leadership.

"Imran Khan’s health and life are in severe danger," Hussain warned, pointing to the alarming fact that since October 3, neither PTI leadership, lawyers, nor Khan’s family members have been allowed to meet with him.

According to Hussain, PTI workers and the general public are growing increasingly anxious about Khan’s condition.

Before his arrest, Khan’s sisters, Aleema Khan and Dr Uzma Khan, regularly visited him in jail and relayed his messages to supporters. However, since his detention, no one has been granted access, raising concerns about his well-being.

Hussain also criticised PTI leaders for giving conflicting statements after meeting with Khan, which has only led to confusion among party workers.

In an earlier call, PTI had announced a protest in Islamabad’s D-Chowk on October 15, 2024. PTI workers had started mobilising for the protest when, on October 14, PTI the caretaker Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan released a video statement claiming that the government and the Interior Minister had assured him that lawyers and doctors would be allowed to meet with Imran Khan the next day. As a result, the protest was postponed. However, when Khan’s personal physician, Dr Asim, arrived at Adiala Jail, he was made to wait for hours and ultimately denied access to his patient.

Hussain sharply criticised Gohar Khan for misleading PTI workers and questioned why, after postponing the protest through a video statement, he did not release another video to inform workers that Khan’s physician had been denied access.

"Why did Barrister Gohar Khan lie to PTI workers and cancel the D-Chowk protest?" he asked, further inquiring if the PTI leadership is deliberately putting Khan’s life at risk.

He reiterated his longstanding concerns about the threats to Imran Khan’s life and health, noting that the government's restrictions on meetings only heighten these fears.

He also mentioned that Khan’s ex-wife, Jemima Khan, had voiced her concerns through tweets, expressing serious worries about Khan’s well-being and calling for their sons to be allowed to meet him.

In light of this distressing situation and the questionable conduct of PTI’s current leadership, Hussain issued a direct message to PTI workers: "Abandon your self-serving leadership, and for the sake of Imran Khan, come out of your homes. If you value his life, take to the streets and protest. The situation demands that PTI workers take control of party affairs, become leaders themselves, and protest for Khan’s release at D-Chowk or Adiala Jail, no matter the sacrifices required."

Hussain emphasised the need for sacrifices in the struggle for rights, reminding PTI workers of MQM’s history, where more than 25,000 workers gave their lives for the cause of justice.

"Despite all state oppression, conspiracies, and betrayals, MQM workers remain united and organised under my leadership," he said.

Concluding his address, Hussain urged PTI workers to stop looking to their leadership for direction and instead take charge of the situation.

He called on them to step into the field of action, work to save Imran Khan’s life, fight for their rights, and free the country from oppression through practical struggle.
