Address to workers on the occasion of 40th foundation day of MQM

Mr Altaf Hussain, the founder and leader of MQM, has said that the corrupt military generals have ruined the country by stealing the people's mandate through worst and unprecedented rigging in the February 8 general elections.
He said this while addressing the workers on the occasion of MQM's 40th foundation day.
Mr Hussain said that 40 years ago in University of Karachi, All Pakistan Muhajir Students Organization was established and then it started gaining momentum and then it was transformed into MQM on March 18, 1984. From this point of view, APMSO is the only student organization in the world which has given birth to its own mother organization.
To eliminate MQM, we were massacred, our residential colonies were attacked, Qasba-Aligarh and Hyderabad arson and carnage happened but MQM could not be eliminated, he told.
MQM was so popular that the people from corners of Pakistan started joining MQM. The party promoted downtrodden educated to the level of lawmakers.
In 1997, we expanded the canvas of MQM and changed it to Muttahida Qaumi Movement.
Then, the country's military establishment started military operation on June 19, 1992 to eliminate MQM, and created many splinter groups in MQM to weaken the party, said the MQM supremo.
Mr Hussain said that those who joined military-backed terrorist splinter groups such as Haiqi, MQM-P and PSP have betrayed the ideologue Altaf Hussain by forgetting the sacrifices of the martyrs.
The MQM supremo Hussain asked that those who got fame, position and status was the blessing of MQM, without which they were unable to rise as mere local body representatives.
The military establishment gave these traitors 17 seats through rigging on February 8, but in fact the nation has rejected them. The military establishment shall bear the worst repercussions then as the country's economy is in doldrums and there's worst inflation and the poor are committing collective suicides, he deplored.
He said that the corrupt military generals have jeopardised the foundations of the country by committing the worst rigging and stealing the public mandate in the February 8 general elections.
He said that the army carried out so many operations against MQM, killed thousands of our innocent workers, inflicted many atrocities on the nation, banned MQM, sealed its headquarters 'Nine Zero,' and lastly set it on fire after it was bulldozed. The military has done everything to eliminate MQM but to no avail, he vowed.
MQM is intact more than before and its canvas is widening day by day, he said and concluded.
