The Royal Court of Justice of Great Britain
will conduct a hearing on the MQM's appeal regarding the property case decision
on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.
The hearing is scheduled to take place in
Court No. 69 of the Royal Court of Justice, located at Strand, London WC2A 2LL,
starting at 10 am. The Court of Appeal will provide a live broadcast of the
hearing via YouTube for public viewing. The court has also released this
schedule.
It is important to note that MQM Bahadurabad
(MQM-P) initiated a lawsuit over the MQM properties in London at the High Court
of Justice, Business and Property Courts of England and Wales in September
2019. After three years and six months of proceedings, the court ruled in favor
of MQM Bahadurabad on March 13, 2023.
In response to this ruling, Mr. Altaf
Hussain's faction of the original MQM filed an appeal in the Royal Court of
Appeal Civil Division last year.
The Court of Appeal granted a hearing for Mr
Altaf Hussain's appeal in August 2023.
The Court of Appeal has now set a date for
this appeal's hearing. The two-day hearing will commence on April 23, 2024, and
will extend until April 24.
The hearing will start at 10 am on Tuesday and
will conclude at 2 pm.
On Wednesday, April 24, the hearing will begin
in the morning and will proceed throughout the entire day.
