KARACHI – The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has formed a committee to prepare its new manifesto in line with the next general election, due in 2013. With Dr Farooq Sattar in the chair, a meeting was held at Khursheed Begum Secretariat on Sunday in this respect. It took stock of implementation of the party’s 2008 manifesto. A subcommittee was also formed to come up with a new manifesto. The meeting was attended by members of the MQM Coordination Committee, including Raza Haroon, Kunwar Naveed Jamil, Shahid Latif and Wasay Jalil, MQM Deputy Parliamentary Leader in the National Assembly Haider Abbas Rizvi and Sindh Minister Syed Sardar Ahmed.It was decided that recommendations would be invited from different wings of the MQM for the preparation of the manifesto. It was also agreed in the meeting that suggestions from people belonging to different spheres of life would also be incorporated.
