The Founder and Leader of MQM Mr Altaf Hussain has said that the government is not happy with the army operation against terrorists. He added that they were targeting Tehreek-Minhaj-ul-Quran to divert army’s attention from the operation.
Mr. Hussain has appeal to Chief of Army Staff that he should not stop operation against terrorists despite police brutalities in Lahore.
He expressed these views in his interview to a private channel in Tuesday morning. He expressed grief over the martyrdom of Minhaj-ul-Quran’s workers who were protesting over the siege of Dr. Tahir-ulQadri’s residence and Minhaj-ul Quran’s secretariat. Police brutally tortured workers and opened indiscriminate firing on them, which resulted in scores of deaths.
Mr. Hussain expressed his heartfelt condolences with Dr. Qadri, bereaved families of martyrs and friends and prayed to Allah to give them high places in paradise. He prayed to Allah to give strength to families to bear the losses and speedy recovery of injured people.
“The launch of the military operation against extremists and terrorists had given hope to families of martyrs that Pak Army will eliminate the killers of their loved ones. Dr. Qadri was coming to Pakistan on June 23, 2014. Why did police raid Minhaj-ul Quran Secretariat on June 17? I always speak the truth. This angers some people. The present government said that they support the army operation, but I feel that they are not happy with the operation. Why did police torture protesters who were protesting over the government’s unconstitutional and undemocratic actions?, “ Mr. Hussain said.
“Terrorists are targeting Imam Bargahs, mosques, churchesand temples. They are carrying bomb attacks in mosques and markets. It appears that the government is frightened because of army operation and has started killing people to divert army’s attention from the operation in order to save terrorists. The government is carrying out brutal actions to save terrorists. Their actions will hurt democracy in the country, “ Mr. Hussain said.
Addressing the armed forces of Pakistan Mr. Hussain said, “ Let the government do repression with the help of police. I urge and implore you not to stop the operation which has been started against terrorists. Take every step for the security and survival of Pakistan because protection of human lives is very important.”
“Is country’s constitution is important or Pakistan’s security and the protection of its citizens? “ He has put this question to constitutional experts.
In response to a question Mr. Hussain said, “ He is expressing his feelings on the tragic incident in Lahore as political leader and a Pakistan citizen. My sympathies are with Dr. Tahir-ulQadri and his party. If he and his party chalks out any plan to fight oppression, Rabita Committee can take decisions freely to support his measures. Rabita Committee will make policies which will be in the interest of Pakistan’s people and security of Pakistan. I will support their policies.”
