Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has strongly condemned the bomb blast near the Chinese consulate in Karachi. He expressed his sorrow on the injuring of one Rangers personnel and two other persons in the blast. He said that China is a long-standing and time-honoured friend of Pakistan and Chinese engineers have been working on development projects in Pakistan. He regretted that despite the role played by China in the development of the country, the Chinese engineers were kidnapped and some were even killed in a ruthless manner.
Mr Hussain extended sympathies to the Chinese government and the Chinese consul general in Karachi. He demanded of President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and Advisor on Interior Affairs Mr Rehman Malik to take serious notice of the blast near the Chinese consulate. He said that the perpetrators behind the blast should be arrested and given exemplary punishment. He prayed for the good health and speedy recovery of the persons injured in the blast.
