Altaf Hussain urges parties to keep their protest demonstrations peaceful.
 Posted on: 11/22/2013
The founder and leader of MQM Mr. Altaf Hussain has said that the country could not afford provocative acts and disturbance because of our  internal and external challenges. He appealed to the parties who have given a strike call on Friday  to protest against  Rawalpindi tragedy, to keep their protest demonstrations peaceful and make sure that properties and people were not targeted during their  demonstrations.
Mr. Hussain expressed these views in a special video message recorded at a meeting at MQM's International Secretariat in London. He expressed his sadness and grief over the riots in different parts of Pakistan following the tragic incident in Rawalpindi. He said that he believes in pan-Islamism. He said he was aggrieved at the deaths innocent people  in the tragic incident.
“Everyone is sad over the incident and prays for them”, said Mr. Hussain.
“Pakistan is a democratic country and a democracy gives people right to do peaceful protests and strikes. I appeal to parties who have given a call for a strike to keep their protests peaceful. The country is facing internal and external challenges. They should make sure no one destroys properties and hurt people. They should preach for sectarian harmony and should not make provocative speeches,” said Mr. Hussain.
Mr. Hussain said that thousands of innocent people have lost their lives because of terrorists acts and people and urged parties to keep their protest demonstrations peaceful and should avoid  making provocative actions. He appealed them to keep an eye on miscreants during protests and disperse peacefully to their homes.
Mr. Hussain praised the Shia organization that had taken their strike call back. He has made an appeal to scholars, mashaiks and zakeereen not to violate the sanctity of the pulpit and urged them not make  provocative statements, which might hurt people's feelings. He added that they should preach peace from the pulpit.
He urged people to help him for the promotion of sectarian harmony. He told people that some people were trying to create divisions among Muslims across the globe. He urged them not to let these people target Pakistan. He hoped that our scholars would work for sectarian harmony instead of creating disunity and tension among sects.
Mr. Hussain prayed for the people who lost their lives in Rawalpindi riot and other incidents. He prayed to Allah to give strength to the bereaved families to bear the losses.
