LONDON. Aug 08, 2019: Muttahidda Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) Founder Leader Mr Altaf Hussain said that August 08 has special significance in history of struggle of the Movement for the rights of Mohajir Nation. It was Aug 08, 1986 when the MQM had showed its power for the first time at the Karachi’s historical Nishtar Park. The discipline of that mammoth crowd was witnessed by the entire world and had praised the MQM for attaining such a level of discipline. The struggle for the rights of Mohajir Nation was commenced on Jun 11, 1978 with the inception of the All Mohajir Students Organisation (APMSO) and following that commencement of the struggle for the rights of Mohajir Nation, the MQM had after eight years held that mammoth public gathering at the Karachi’s historical Nishtar Park. Despite heavy rains, men, women and youth maintained an exemplary discipline then and still today they have not forgotten their discipline. That exemplary discipline of Mohajir Nation helped them to sweep a victory in local government elections held in 1987 and general elections in 1988 they made the MQM Pakistan’s third largest political party and second largest in Sindh province.

Unfortunately, Mr Hussain said that, “The ghoulish Pakistan military and ISI started conspiracies against Mohajir unity”. “They had feared their tyranny in association with feudal elites was nearing an end through the MQM”. Conversely, the military-ISI, ethnic puppet and feudal elite consortium brought other ethnic communities face to face with the Mohajirs. Such ethnic riots sponsored and promoted and funded were for eliminating the MQM and their unity as one nation – Mohajir Nation.

The MQM founder asked the Mohajir Nation that they should re-validate their commitment for taking the MQM to its destination that is just steps away and should tell their youth and younger generation what the MQM had done on Aug 08, 1986 at the historical Nishtar park of Karachi.
