Muttahida Qaumi Movement has announced a peaceful `day of mourning’ across Sindh on Thursday to protest against the kidnapping and brutal killing of its three sympathisers in Malir.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the MQM Coordination Committee has appealed to the Haq Parast people belonging to different walks of life to observe a peaceful `day of mourning’ on Thursday across the province to protest against the kidnapping and brutal killings of Mehtab Shaheed, a son of an elderly worker of MQM Malir Sector (Unit-98), Abdul Waheed, Unit-98 Committee’s Member Jawed Saeed’s nephew Farhan Shaheed, and other sympathisers of MQM Tauseef Shaheed and injured Farhan, frequent assassination of Muttahida’s workers and sympathisers and the threats of dire consequences being given to industrialists, businessmen and owners of wedding halls by extortionist mafia.
The Committee appealed to traders and transporters to keep their businesses shut on Thursday to voice their protest against the acts of oppression and barbarism.
