I am personally grieved and it is a great loss for the movement
The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has strongly condemned the brutal killing of the MQM candidate from PS – 47 Hyderabad Fakhr-ul-Islam by armed terrorists near Hala Naka in Hyderabad. He has termed it a cowardly act and blatant terrorism. Fakhrul Islam was the Joint Unit In-charge of Unit 16 of the MQM Hyderabad Sector. He had also been elected as a councillor in the past.
Mr Hussain said that the terrorist elements were mistaken in assuming that they would be able to diminish the determination of MQM workers by their terrorism. The MQM had passed through many rivers of fire and blood during its long struggle spanning over 35 years. Thousands of untiring, selfless and sincere workers of the MQM laid down their lives and it was because of their sacrifices that the movement was moving forward and achieving successes.
Mr Hussain demanded Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad and the caretaker chief minister of Sindh Zahid Qurban Alvi to take serious notice of the brutal killing of Fakhrul Islam. He said that the killers should be brought swiftly to justice and steps should be taken to give protection to the MQM candidates.
He said that he was personally grieved on the killing of Fakhrul Islam and it was a great loss for the movement. He extended heartfelt sympathies to the grieving family members and said that their grief was equally shared by every worker of the MQM. He prayed Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and give courage and patience to all the MQM workers and sympathizers of Hyderabad to bear the great loss.
