Every citizen has a constitutional, legal, and democratic right to hold peaceful rallies, processions, and protests. Using force to deny people this right is an outright act of cruelty and brutality.
The violent shelling by the government on participants of today's peaceful
procession in Rawalpindi is a blatant display of fascism.
I strongly condemn this brutal action, as well as the arrests of journalist Sami Abrahim
, PTI member Ms Seemabia Tahir, and several other men and women.
This act by the government is not only unacceptable but also deeply cruel and unjust. If the present government wants to continue with the same cruelty and brutality in order to violate the rights provided to the citizens in the constitution of Pakistan, then it is better that they should declare martial law in the country so that people can make their future plans accordingly.
I appeal to the peaceful workers of PTI to uphold their courage and determination, to stand with a firm resolve and continue their peaceful struggle.
I understand very well that you are facing immense atrocities of the government in the way of constitutional and legal struggle, but as the founder of PTI
has dissipated a message to the people in many of his public meetings that they do not have to fear the coercion of the situation and have courage. It is essential to act with courage, so you must confront these oppressive tactics with strength and resilience, continuing your peaceful struggle with unwavering determination.
