Try Parliament House attackers under Article 6: Altaf Hussain

President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Shahbaz  should give notices to the police, army, and all law enforcers are attacking the parliament and the constitution. Or else, they should resign from their positions in protest.

 LONDON. [UK]. September 12:

MQM founder leader Altaf Hussain has strongly condemned the attack by the law enforced agencies and  reminded President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif that blood was shed on the sacred Parliament House and democracy on the morning of September 10, 2024, the way the sanctity of the Parliament was violated, the constitution and law were insulted. He demanded a full investigation should be conducted into the matter, and say that we give notices to the police, army, and all law enforcers are attacking the parliament and the constitution. Or else, they should resign from their positions in protest.

During the address at the social media, he asserted that the Parliament House is a revered institution in every nation. Similarly, in Pakistan, the Parliament House stands as a sanctified entity and a crucial pillar of the state, as well as the Constitution of Pakistan. The law stipulates that no law enforcement agency is permitted to enter the Parliament House or arrest any of its members. Those who violate the sanctity of Parliament should be prosecuted under Article 6 of the Constitution. On the morning of September 10, 2024, the Parliament House was subjected to an assault. Initially, the electricity supply to the Parliament House was severed. Subsequently, masked individuals scaled the walls, infiltrated the premises, and forcibly entered the chambers. Elected PTI parliamentarians were apprehended and dragged away. Conversely, cleric members of the Parliament were also forcibly dragged out from their chambers inside the mosque within the premises of the Parliament.

He said that these egregious and unconstitutional actions by any law enforcement agency have desecrated the sanctity of the Parliament, violated the Constitution, and flagrantly disregarded the rule of law.

He was of his views that the nation itself decide whether the constitution and the law have been broken by Pakistan Tehreek-e Insaaf lawmakers or by those who have arrested them from inside the Parliament House?

On one hand, he continued to speak that the PTI lawmakers were apprehended inside the Parliament House. Concurrently, Ali Amin Gandapur, the elected Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, forcibly disappeared. After participating in the Islamabad rally, Gandapur was on his way back to Peshawar, where senior military officials summoned him to a secure location and instructed him to proceed to Islamabad immediately. Upon his arrival in Islamabad, plain clothed operatives escorted him to a safe house, where he was neither treated with courtesy nor spoken to. There remains no official information regarding his whereabouts, but it is evident that Gandapur was detained for 8 to 10 hours due to remarks he made at a public meeting in Islamabad. This constitutes an enforced disappearance.

He reminded President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif that blood was shed on the sacred Parliament House and democracy on the morning of September 10, 2024, the way the sanctity of the Parliament was violated, the constitution and law were insulted. He demanded a full investigation should be conducted into the matter, and say that we give notices to the police, army, and all law enforcers are attacking the parliament and the constitution. Or else, they should resign from their positions in protest.

President Zardari should think that this is the parliament that elected him and among them are his son and daughter, as well, he added.

In the same way, all members of parliament should also resign from the Parliament in protest against the insults of the constitution, law and democracy. If those who attacked the Parliament are not arrested and punished, then all the political prisoners of PTI and my MQM led by Altaf Hussain, and all the prisoners including the Baloch freedom fighters should be immediately released, he asserted.

He further added that all the missing persons should be recovered.

He had his opinion that the time has come for the people of Pakistan to decide whether Pakistan will be governed by the constitution and the law or not. Now Pakistan and democracy will remain, the judiciary and parliament will remain or those who trample the constitution and law under their feet, those who violate the sanctity of parliament, those will remain who suppress the judiciary and judges and those who suppress and smother the voice of the elected representatives of the people through force.

He claimed, "I am striving to safeguard Pakistan and its democracy by advocating for truth, the rule of law, and adherence to the Constitution."

He said that it was imperative that everyone rises to this cause now.
