London: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain on Sunday strongly denounced the violence and burning of a Church in Mardan during Yaum-e-Ishq-e-Rasool (SAW) and termed these acts against the teachings of the Prophet (PBUH).
In a statement issued from London, the MQM Chief said the Prophet (PBUH) had spread the message of love and peace but the way public and private property was destroyed in the name of Yaum-e-Ishq-e-Rasool (SAW).
The MQM chief said that the Christian community also protested over the film mocking prophet (PBUH), but the burning of church had hurt their sentiments.
“What will happen if in reaction the non-Muslims in foreign countries started setting ablaze the mosques there?” Altaf Hussain cautioned, asking ‘are we not inviting others to cause damage to the mosques?’.
The MQM Chief demanded of the government to immediately arrest the elements responsible for burning down the Church in Pakistan besides providing security to the worship places of non-Muslims.
