KARACHI: A five-member delegation of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Thursday led by Provincial Minister Syed Sardar Ahmed called on Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah at the CM House here. A CM House statement said that the law and order situation especially that of Karachi was discussed during the meeting. It was decided that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and the MQM would make concerted efforts for improving the law and order situation in Karachi and that steps would be taken for the protection of the lives and property of the people and curbing the terrorists, criminals and anti-human elements. Shah informed the delegation that in the wake of today and yesterday’s incidents he immediately convened a high-level law and order meeting. He said that stern and specific instructions had been given to the police, rangers and law enforcement agencies with regard to law and order in the metropolis and their responsibilities in this connection have been determined. The MQM delegation included Raza Haroon, Dr Sagheer Ahmed, Adil iddiqui, Faisal Subzwari. From the PPP side, Sindh information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, was also present in the meeting.
