KARACHI: MQM chief, Altaf Hussain has asked his party’s Rabita Committee to hold a nationwide referendum over if they should join the Sindh government or sit on opposition benches.
During an address to party workers, Hussain asked MQM’s parliamentarians and leaders if they wanted to be part of the provincial government or opposition. In response, the parliamentarians and leaders said they wanted to sit on the opposition benches. On Sunday, a PPP delegation led by Rehman Malik had visited the MQM headquarters Nine Zero and invited the MQM to join the Sindh government.
During his address the MQM chief claimed that not even a single terrorist was killed by security forces during the operation at the Bolan Medical Complex in Quetta. Hussain added that the terrorists had escaped or were made to escape.
The MQM chief questioned why LeJ, LeT and TTP were free while a state sponsored operation was underway against his party.
Altaf Hussain said he would file petitions with the UN and Chief Justice of Pakistan over the killing of MQM workers in Karachi.
