HYDERABAD: A candidate of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for PS-45 constituency withdrew from the election race and announced his support for the Muttahida Qaumi Movement's (MQM) candidate.
Addressing a press conference here Monday at Hyderabad Press Club, the PML-N's Abdul Rasheed Arain also announced joining the MQM along with his supporters. Speaking on the occasion, Hyderabad Zone in charge of the MQM Muhammad Sharif said Latifabad-based PS-45 constituency was a stronghold of his party which had been winning from the area since 1988 elections.
"The MQM's message is spreading like a wildfire as people from all the ethnic and religious communities joining the party," said Sharif. He claimed that the MQM would not only retain the seats the party had won in the 2008 elections but it would go ahead to add new seats to its tally.
He told that the MQM had fielded Muhammad Dilawar Qureshi as its candidate from PS-45 constituency.
