Presenting party manifesto for elections 2013, Muttahida Qaumi Movement senior leader Dr. Farooq Sattar Monday said that the focus of manifesto was to empower the people of this country.
Sattar, speaking during press conference, said that MQM was the only party in the country which arose from the middle class, “but also in practicality, MQM gave tickets to educated, capable people, especially youngsters, from the lower and middle classes and brought them to assemblies.
MQM’s Deputy Convener said his party sent poor and middle class to the assemblies where even the entry of the middle class people is prohibited, added that a lot of youngsters will succeed in the upcoming elections as well.
Sattar said that his party's election manifestos, over the years, have remained focused on real empowerment of all oppressed people in the country.
He said that MQM was for pro-people reforms and is strongly committed to political empowerment of poor and middle class in the country.
Farooq Sattar said MQM's strong support for local bodies is also for the same reason as this enables people in general to be actively involved in grass root level decision making process.
Dr. Farooq Sattar said land reforms are among the top most important agenda of his party added that agriculture tax would be imposed on landlords.
He said health and education would be top priority of his party added that they will spend five percent of total budget.
