ISLAMABAD, (SANA): Mutahida Qaumi Movement and Awami National Party have agreed on the need for indiscriminate and across the board action against criminals of all sorts in Karachi.
Their understanding came during meeting of an MQM delegation with that of ANP in Islamabad here on Wednesday. The MQM delegation was led by Dr. Farooq Sattar and that of ANP by Haji Muhammad Adeel.
Later, talking to newsmen, Dr. Farooq Sattar said the MQM has floated the idea of an All Parties Conference and this also came under discussion during talks with ANP. He said the aim is to ensure that confidence of the people in political parties and democracy is strengthened.
He said both parties agree that there is need to restore writ of the state in Karachi and zero tolerance should be shown towards those indulging in violence, terrorism or crime.
He was of the view that under a conspiracy, Karachi is being destabilized.
Haji Muhammad Adeel said Karachi is the hub of economic activities and both ANP and MQM want peace there.
He said indiscriminate action should be taken against land, drug and arms mafia.
He said the two parties also discussed the situation in Balochistan and acts of terrorism in other parts of the country.
