Altaf Hussain condemns killing of Shakil Awaj

The founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM), Mr. Altaf Hussain strongly condemned the assassination of Dean of Islamic Studies, University of Karachi, Prof. Dr Shakil Ahmed Awaj.

The MQM Chief said that the killing of Prof. Awaj left the nation being deprived of another gigantic scholar and a literate. He said that for the last several months in Karachi, various professionals were being murdered in the name of sect and religion.

He said that the targeted-operation was started with the aim of tightening the control on terrorists and terrorism in the city. The rising number of murdered and other fatal crimes reflected that the targeted-operation seemed failed.

Mr. Hussain said that the killing of Prof. Awaj was the great loss of the nation. He said that he and his party workers prayed for him and offered condolence for the bereaved family. He also demanded Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan and Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah to take immediate action against the culprits who involved in the killing of Porf. Awaj.
