MQM MNAs show concerns over flood forecast
 Posted on: 9/9/2014 1
The Members of National Assembly of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) expressed their deep concerns over met office forecast of possible flood after Punjab.

In a joint-statement, the MNAs demanded Sindh government to utilize all the concerned departments to save precious human lives and properties. They urged to complete all the cleaning works of rain streams and nullahs prior to the calamity reached.

They said that the water level was increased at Hala, Sindh, and possibly a stream of hundreds of thousands cusecs of water entered into Sindh region. They suggested Sindh government to refurbish all the embankments and canals to stop repeating the tragic history regarding flood devastation.

The Parliamentarians said that the provincial government, ministers and administration should consider the met office forecast as a challenge. They appealed the government to take appropriate measures to save people’s lives and their properties.

The MQM MNAs suggested the government not to confine themselves merely announcing rain-emergency in the province but to step forward to stop the possible devastation of the calamity. They warned that if there would be any human or property loss due to the flood and torrential rains, the government would directly be blamed.
